Central Florida Eye Specialists welcomes comprehensive ophthalmologist Dr. Todd Fleming to our growing team!
Dr. Fleming has an extensive clinical, evidence-based background on a wide range of degenerative ocular conditions, specializing in cataract surgery, anterior segment disease and high-tech, quality eye care. He is certified in Zeiss VisuMax Femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery and has advanced training in phacoemulsification techniques, including simulation-based coursework through HelpMeSee Global.
Dr. Fleming’s expertise in ophthalmology has been recognized at medical conferences and across the nation, including the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology conference and the annual Advances in Ophthalmology: John Dickerson Lectureship. His research on glaucoma, ocular inflammation and precise surgical outcomes have been published in peer-reviewed journals, such as Cell Signaling, The FASEB Journal and Journal of Surgical Education.
Dr. Fleming earned his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency and internal medicine internship at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in art with a concentration in portraiture from Covenant College and completed his pre-medical coursework at the University of North Carolina Asheville.
He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. Outside of medicine, Dr. Fleming enjoys freelance portraiture and landscape art.
