Typically, A Multifocal Lens is placed in the eye which represents the latest development in lens technology. These lenses are able to simultaneously focus light from both far away and near objects. This allows people to not only greatly reduce their dependence on glasses for far away vision but also for reading. Unfortunately, It cannot fix problems and restore vision loss due to glaucoma, macular degeneration, or irregular astigmatism.
More About Refractive Lens SurgeryWe offer different options for glaucoma treatment depending on your specific condition. For some patients who also have cataracts, we are able to offer concurrent glaucoma surgery to decrease the intraocular pressure and stop further progression of the disease. We also offer other surgical treatments such as shunts, drainage devices or the creation of a flap to allow filtration, all with the goal of reducing the pressure in the eye.
